Kathy from Vine & Fig does the administrative work for the educational outreach program - grant writing, communicating with agencies, and an educational newsletter, among many other tasks. Vine and Fig is a nonprofit organization. We couldn’t do this grant without this partnership!

Making a delivery to Our Community Place, a local community day center that provides daily meals & essential services to our community’s homeless residents.

Delivering to HCHC, which stocks a refrigerator with greens/veggies once a week. This program gives patients at the community health center fresh veggies if they say they need food, while they are already there. The refrigerator is located in the pharmacy.

The local Boys and Girls Club is a large part of our program and we work with the local schools to deliver to those programs. We currently deliver once a week to all of the Harrisonburg City Boys and Girls Clubs. They have worked our healthy eating education into their curriculum.

Our organic veggies are distributed to teenage mothers through our local hospital’s Hand-In-Hand program.

Our final stop of the day - food banks are a crucial part of the program.  To have several hundred shares of vegetables, there are always going to be extras of some items.  These are delivered weekly to food banks to prevent any waste. Another delivery day in the books!
